About the role

We are working with a major player in the UK Renewable Energy Sector who have a current requirement for a Communications Consultant to join their established team in Edinburgh. This is a part-time (3 days per week), initial 6-month hybrid contract role - inside IR35.

Our client is part of a JV instrumental to a major offshore wind farm Project currently under construction in the Firth of Forth. Once completed, this flagship Project, will consist of 54 turbines and power around 375,000 homes. The Project is now at an exciting stage and has just achieved first power with full commissioning planned for summer 2025.

The Communications Consultant will work with the Project team to understand the project and lead the communications, stakeholder management and continue to build strong relationships with the local community. An important part of the role is to engage with and foster a collaborative relationship with counterparts working within the joint venture partner organisation. It is critical to our client and the Project itself, that they continue to develop effective relationships with disparate stakeholders, which include local communities and residents, politicians, interested groups and suppliers. You will therefore need to work proactively with these audiences; continuing to build upon our client's positive reputation and demonstrating that our client is a Renewables partner who can be trusted

Providing digital content for the Project and the company's website (and other social media channels where appropriate).
Working closely with the project development and delivery teams to support and advise them.
Working closely with the company's central external and internal communications team.
