Job Summary:
IMC are looking for an experienced and motivated Podiatrist to join our Podiatry team in Newcastle. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive foot and lower limb care to patients with a range of podiatric conditions. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating foot and ankle issues, including biomechanical concerns, dermatological conditions, and minor foot injuries. As a key member of our clinic, you will deliver high-quality care, support patient education, and contribute to our commitment to exceptional patient experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Responsibilities
Conduct detailed assessments of foot, ankle, and lower limb conditions, utilizing clinical skills to diagnose and treat a range of podiatric issues.
Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, including routine podiatric care, minor surgical procedures, orthotic prescription, and wound management.
Treat various conditions such as nail and skin pathologies, foot deformities, sports injuries, and biomechanical dysfunctions.
Use diagnostic tools such as ultrasound or gait analysis to enhance assessment and treatment plans, where appropriate.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with clinic policies and professional standards.
Patient Education and Engagement
Provide patient education on foot health, preventative care, and self-management strategies.
Advise on proper footwear, orthotics, and other products that support foot health and prevent recurrence of issues.
Support patient engagement through clear communication, empathy, and patient-centered care.
Clinic and Service Development
Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical best practices within the podiatry service.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and service reviews to enhance patient outcomes and clinic performance.
Provide insights and recommendations to enhance patient satisfaction and the overall quality of podiatric care.
Collaboration and Communication
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physiotherapists, orthotists, and other healthcare professionals, to provide holistic patient care.
Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and colleagues, maintaining professionalism and sensitivity.
Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and ongoing training sessions to support clinic goals and professional growth.
Essential Criteria:
Qualifications: Degree in Podiatry and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) in the UK.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience in podiatry, ideally with exposure to a range of podiatric conditions.
Clinical Skills: Proficiency in diagnostic assessment, routine podiatric procedures, orthotic prescription, and wound care.
Patient-Centered Care: Strong commitment to providing compassionate, patient-focused care with excellent communication skills.
Desirable Criteria:
Specialization: Additional certifications or specialization in areas such as biomechanics, sports podiatry, or podiatric surgery.
Private Sector Experience: Previous experience working in a private clinic or a similar setting, with a focus on high-quality customer service.
Quality Improvement: Experience in clinic audits, research, or service improvement projects.
