Skilled Operator/Craft Technician

Perm role, £52,756pa, Continental Shift Pattern, On-site Parking, Life Assurance, Healthcare Membership, Cycle to Work Scheme

ELLESMERE PORT

I am looking for a Skilled Operator/Craft Technician, ideally with an Electrical bias, to work on the Production team of one of my Manufacturing clients based in Ellesmere Port.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for Operating and Maintaining the Production equipment on site. Day to day tasks will include:

-Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, attends breakdowns and repairs equipment and systems.

-Perform scheduled maintenance and operations checks of systems and associated equipment.

-Perform scheduled lubrication on pumps, motors, gearboxes, drives, chain and sprocket assemblies, valves, and belt and screw conveyors.

-Repacking of pump seals, and installation of seals and bearings.

-Inspection and removal of warn pump seals and bearings.

-Shut down, isolate and prepare process units or production equipment for maintenance.

-Perform general clean-up of tools, equipment, and work areas.

-Ensure that all maintenance logs are maintained, and shift logs specify any current activity.

-Install pumps, motors, gearboxes, drives, chain and sprocket assemblies, bearings, and pipelines.

-Ensures that all assets on site sustain their projected life.

-Assist in the training of apprentices or other employees where necessary

-Assist the Process Operators where necessary

-Patrol site to inspect for leaks and hazards and that the environment is protected

-Operating a Chemical Process to ISO9001, 14001 and 18001 standards

-Providing both planned and unplanned maintenance support

-Carry out any in-process adjustments where required

-Repairing any Pneumatic and Mechanical equipment when necessary

Key skills and qualifications required for this role are:

-Must have a recognised Engineering qualification

-Level 3 NVQ in Engineering Maintenance or equivalent

-Post qualification experience in an industrial environment, preferably Chemical.

-A good level of computer literacy

-Previous experience of maintenance management SAP systems

-Counterbalance FLT License, MEWPS and PASMA certifications would be advantageous

-Siemen’s hardware/programme experience and/or PLC/SCADA experience would be beneficial

-Confined Space Entry would be desirable

-First Aid Certificate would be beneficial

The company run a 24/7 operation so you will be required to work a Continental shift pattern, 12hr shifts, 2days/2nights then 4 days off. This repeats 7 times followed by an 18-day break. This pattern then repeats 5 times a year.  The holidays are built into the 18 days off. The salary for the role is £52,756 pa which includes all shift allowance and contracted Overtime.
