Job Description

Are you an experienced Bookkeeper who would like to work for an organisation who are passionate about making a positive impact in the community? You will be joining a well-established charity based in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire who are focused on improving health, wellbeing, social inclusion and communities through physical activity. 

This is a part-time role, working 28 hours per week. The company offers hybrid working with 1 day per week based in the office, normally a Tuesday. The option for remote working may also be available.

As the Bookkeeper, you will receive 38.5 days holiday pro rata including Bank Holidays and Christmas Shut Down, additional holiday increases with service up to 43.5 days pro rata in total, Wellbeing Grant voucher of £50 to be spent on health and wellbeing, volunteer day, up to 8% pension scheme, annual CPD courses offered by Staffordshire University, online skills training platform and access to a counselling service.

The position is offering a competitive salary of £42,000 per annum full-time equivalent, which translates to £33,600 per annum for part-time work, depending on experience.

As the Bookkeeper, your duties will include:

Preparing monthly management accounts for the leadership team, ensuring accuracy and compliance

Managing year-end financial processes and reporting

Supporting budget holders with budget management and income/expenditure planning

Preparing and submitting reconciliations for funders

Completing accounts payable processes

Creating and monitoring financial reports including cash flow forecasting, restricted income monitoring and long-term forecasting

Processing an outsourced payroll and handling any queries

Making recommendations to the Board and advising on best practice

As the Bookkeeper, you will have:

Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, Finance Manager or Management Accountant

Experience in financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting

Experience working in the charity sector and managing funding streams would be an advantage

Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders

Experience in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero

You may have experience in any of the following roles: Financial Manager, Accountant, Finance Officer, Bookkeeper, Financial Controller, Accounts Manager, Charity Accountant, Treasurer, 

The salary for this role is £33,600 per annum, depending on experience / full-time equivalent is £42,000 per annum / £23.07 per hour
