Job Description
Unite People are recruiting for a permanent Project Manager on behalf of a tier 1 civil engineering contractor for a number of waste water treatment schemes on the Severn Trent water framework.
About the Role:
The role will see you initially working in the West Midlands region. However, flexibility is key, as you may be required to travel to various sites across the Severn Trent region, with project locations subject to change based on programme demands.
Your Key Responsibilities:
* Take full responsibility for managing and successfully delivering complex projects or multiple project packages within the Severn Trent Water Framework.
* Oversee all aspects of project management, including health and safety, design, customer relations, quality, environmental impact, programme adherence, and cost/value management during both pre-production (ECI phase) and production stages.
* Track the progress of offsite and onsite operations to ensure they meet deadlines and budget constraints.
* Foster a positive team culture on your projects to enhance well-being and performance.
* Drive change by embedding production line thinking and our “offsite first” philosophy across the team.
What We’re Looking For:
* An exceptional team leader with strong people management, analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
* Experience in both pre-production and production project management within a major project environment is highly desirable.
* A natural leader capable of inspiring a diverse team.
* Strong communication and customer service skills are essential.
* Programme-focused, with the ability to plan and organize resources to deliver on time and within scope.
* Commercial acumen, with the ability to guide the team in producing accurate time and cost forecasts and reports.
* Experience with BIM/digital tools is advantageous.
* A minimum HNC qualification in a civil engineering or construction management is preferred
* Proficiency in IT is essential.
* A relevant professional qualification is desirable.
* SMSTS safety qualification and a valid CSCS card are required.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
