About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Service Manager to lead and shape the Strategic Asset Management function. In this pivotal role, you'll drive capital and revenue programmes across housing assets, ensuring they are aligned with long-term goals to provide safe, high-quality homes for communities in West Yorkshire.
You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners, working as a change agent to deliver transformative asset management strategies that are data-driven and resident-focused. With responsibility for planning, budgeting, and operational oversight, you'll help guide sustainable improvements and support the organisation's commitment to quality and value for residents.
Key Responsibilities
Asset Strategy Leadership: Lead the delivery of an asset management strategy, creating investment plans that meet the highest housing standards.
Programme Management: Develop, coordinate, and oversee five-year capital and revenue programmes based on strategic priorities, managing timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Data and Systems Oversight: Ensure asset data is accurate, current, and effectively used to support strategic and operational plans. Lead data collection and analysis to drive effective asset management and decision-making.
Team and Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams and external partners to foster a holistic approach to programme planning. Mentor and support a team of asset and technical specialists, ensuring alignment with best practices.
Performance and Risk Management: Track programme progress, report on activity and potential risks, and make recommendations to address issues proactively.
Supplier and Quality Management: Lead the commissioning and procurement process, ensuring suppliers and contractors meet high standards and value for money. Oversee efficient and prompt resolution of complaints, addressing any gaps to improve service quality.Who We're Looking For
We seek a qualified professional with a background in construction, housing, or project management, along with a relevant professional membership (e.g., RICS, CIOB, CIH). You'll bring solid experience in asset strategy, budget management, and programme delivery, alongside excellent communication skills and a commitment to improving housing standards. Experience in partnering with other organisations, political awareness, and knowledge of the regulatory framework governing housing assets are all valuable assets for this role.
