Senior EC&I Engineer in Newcastle upon Tyne - CV-Library

Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a Senior EC&I Engineer with a background in nuclear or defence, to be engaged on a staff basis and located in Newcastle.

Key responsibilities will be:

Lead projects across the project lifecycle from bid generation, through concept and detailed design development to installation and commissioning
Work on systems integration, testing and validation of PLC, SCADA and simulator systems
Support requirements capture and systems engineering approach for new architectures
Demonstrate knowledge of the practical aspects of implementing engineering designs and understand the use of standards and compliance with regulatory requirements in an engineering environment
Simplify complex problems
Produce high-quality technical reports
Build and maintain valuable relationshipsQualifications:

MEng, MSc, BEng or BSc or equivalent in EC&I or another relevant discipline, chartered or near Chartered Engineer status with a relevant professional body (we will support you)
An awareness of civil nuclear plant systems, structures and components and associated design and assessment guidelines (or relevant engineering principles from other highly regulated industries)
An understanding of the relevant guidelines, standards and practices (e.g., IEC 61508, 61511, 61513, 61226, ONR SAPs / TAGS)
Knowledge and experience in the systematic design lifecycle of a C&I system; including speci?cation, design, assessment, veri?cation, testing, installation, commissioning and maintenance of safety or process critical I&C Systems
Knowledge of high integrity hardware or software-based control systems for industrial equipment
Motivated team member with the ability to work to deadlines and communicate project progress
Good communication skills and ability to articulate information to a broad range of stakeholders
