Job Description

Part-time Payroll Officer - Nottingham (Hybrid) - Part-time - £30,000 - £35,000 (pro-rata)
We are recruiting for an experienced Payroll Officer to join a multi-entity business on a part-time, hybrid basis. This newly created role offers a unique opportunity to focus on payroll best practices and compliance, without the need for hands-on processing. You’ll work closely with business leaders across sites, supporting them as the primary contact for all payroll-related queries and ensuring efficient, compliant payroll processes.

About the Role:
Working 22 hours per week, you’ll collaborate with business leaders to champion payroll best practices across the company’s various entities. As the go-to payroll expert, you will monitor the accuracy of payroll data, ensure compliance, and work to streamline payroll processes. This role offers the flexibility of hybrid working and the chance to manage your own schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Compliance: Ensure all payroll processes comply with relevant regulations.

Subject Matter Expert: Act as the primary contact for payroll queries, providing expert guidance.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with business leaders to advocate for best payroll practices.

Data Accuracy: Oversee the accuracy and reliability of payroll data across the organisation.

About You:
The ideal candidate is passionate about payroll and has a strong understanding of payroll compliance. Previous experience in a mentoring or leadership capacity within payroll would be beneficial. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with business leaders to help develop the payroll function. You will need access to your own vehicle and be able to travel as required, although the role is largely hybrid.

Requirements:

In-depth knowledge of payroll processes and pension compliance.

Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships.

Ideally hold a recognised payroll qualification.

What’s in it for You?
This is a permanent, part-time role (22 hours per week), offering a unique opportunity to work on the strategic side of payroll. With a full-time equivalent salary of £30,000 - £35,000, this role allows you to set your own schedule within a hybrid working model.
