Clinical Psychologist (Part-Time Contract) - Neurological Rehabilitation Service

Salary: £40,000 per annum (Pro Rata; FTE £50,000)
Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire
Hours: Part-Time (30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexible days and times to be agreed)

Summary

Appoint Healthcare is proud to partner with a leading national provider of health and social care services for young people and adults with neurological, mental health needs, and learning disabilities. We are currently seeking a Clinical Psychologist to work across four Northampton sites, providing rehabilitation and residential services for up to 37 adults.

Overview of the Northampton Services:

Male-Only Service: Supporting individuals with neurological conditions and associated drug and alcohol addictions. Service users may present with cognitive impairments, communication disorders, and challenging behaviours.
17-Bed Unit: Specialising in post-acute and longer-term rehabilitation, management of neurological conditions such as Huntington's disease, and end-of-life care when required.
18-Bed Rehabilitation Service: Offering post-acute rehabilitation through to specialist community-based transitional support. We are committed to helping every individual feel safe, happy, and empowered, enabling them to live their best possible life.
Female-Only Service: Providing specialist community-based transitional neurological rehabilitation for those who are not yet ready for supported living.

Role Overview

As a Clinical Psychologist within our team, you will be instrumental in providing psychological assessment, intervention, and support to our residents. Your expertise will be central to the holistic care we provide, ensuring that each individual receives tailored support that meets their unique needs. Work Hours/Flexible working

This role offers 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexible days and times to be agreed. We value work-life balance and are open to discussing adjustments to suit your personal or professional needs wherever possible.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure the safety and protection of individuals' human rights.
Conduct comprehensive assessments and clinical formulations of patients' behavioural challenges and treatment needs.
Deliver evidence-based individual and group therapy programs to address or mitigate difficulties.
Evaluate the effectiveness of treatment programs and make necessary adjustments.
Guide and support team members in delivering evidence-based clinical psychology interventions.
Maintain adherence to security procedures and continuously assess and manage risks.
Foster positive relationships with colleagues, visitors, and carers.

Requirements

HCPC registration.
BPS registration.
Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of specialist neuropsychological assessments and the treatment of adults with complex acquired neurological disorders, particularly those with cognitive, psychological, and emotional impairments that hinder independent daily functioning. You should also have significant experience in delivering individual therapy and supporting non-psychology team members in working with individuals with acquired brain injuries, along with strong teamwork and leadership skills.
