Job Description
As part of our Technical Documentation team, you will ensure technical data and documentation specifications meet the highest standards before distribution to subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and validate OEM manuals, ensuring editorial consistency and coherence.
Collaborate with Senior Technical Documentation Engineer to create and deliver detailed technical documentation reports.
Liaise with cross-functional teams, including engineering and support functions, to streamline technical data requirements.
Conduct editorial reviews, assess delivery requirements, and produce specifications for subcontracted documentation production.
Manage configurations, ensuring audit trails and accurate ship-fit system data through database management.
Ensure documentation aligns with business quality and safety standards, adhering to company policies.
Respond to subcontractor queries regarding production specifications.
Provide feedback on project progress, identifying potential risks to timelines, budget, or quality.Skills & Knowledge:
Solid knowledge of S1000D standards, particularly in Integrated Product Support (IPS).
Proficiency in MS Word, XML, SGML, and technical documentation processes.
Excellent communication skills for technical discussions with stakeholders.Qualifications:
Experience in writing for T26, QEC, or T45 systems isideal but not essential
Proficiency in S1000D authoring tools (S1000E, 4.1, and Eagle).
Familiarity with ITAR requirements and maritime engineering is highly valued.Additional Details:
Location: On-site 1-2 days per week at either Bristol, Portsmouth or Glasgow.
Security Clearance (SC) is required; candidates with dual nationality may be ineligible due to ITAR regulations.
