Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Design Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing engineering solutions across multi-discipline groups, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and standards. The role involves extensive work within the nuclear and high hazard facilities, maintaining high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security, and quality. You will be expected to have comprehensive knowledge of legislative documentation associated with design engineering, and ensure designs comply with all relevant requirements. Additional accountabilities may be defined and appointed through the Chief Engineer Management Arrangements.

Skills:
Extensive knowledge of legislation and standards applicable to engineering design
Experience working within multi-discipline groups
Strong understanding of legislation and standards associated with nuclear and high hazard facilities
Ability to maintain high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security, and quality
Team player with excellent collaboration skills
Comprehensive understanding of relevant legislative documentation/standards
Ability to ensure designs comply with relevant legislation, standards, and requirements
Experience in promoting and maintaining high standards in environment, safety, health, security, and quality
Knowledge of engineering design processes across the life of an asset
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Software/Tools:
CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, Inventor)
Design and simulation tools
Project management software

Certifications & Standards:
Chartered Engineer status or actively working towards it
Compliance with relevant industry standards and legislation (e.g., BS, ISO, ASME standards)
Knowledge of CE marking processes, including ATEX, PED, Low Voltage Directive, Machinery Directive, and EMC Compliance
Membership of relevant Engineering Institutes (e.g., IMechE, CIBSE)
