Position Marine Engineer / Marine Engineer Team Leader
Location: Brixham
Rate/Salary: £35,000+
Type: Permanent

We are seeking a Marine Engineer for a marine engineering company based in Brixham. The successful candidate will help supervise and oversee the workshop operations, ensuring the effective maintenance and repair of marine vessels and equipment. The ideal candidate will have a solid marine engineering background and proven leadership abilities to manage a team of skilled technicians.

Duties and responsibilities of the Workshop Engineer / Marine Engineer:

* Supervise and oversee the daily operations of the workshop, ensuring all tasks are completed safely and efficiently.

* Develop and implement maintenance schedules for marine vessels and equipment.

* Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.

* Lead, manage, and motivate a team of marine technicians and engineers.

* Conduct performance evaluations and provide training and development for staff.

* Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on a range of marine engines and systems.

* Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to propulsion systems, auxiliary equipment, and other marine systems.

* Ensure all repair and maintenance work is completed to the highest quality standards.

* Liaise with customers to understand their needs and provide technical advice.

* Ensure all documentation and certification requirements are met.

Qualifications and requirements:

* Minimum Level 3 NVQ in marine engineering or a related field.

* Strong technical knowledge of marine engines, propulsion systems, and auxiliary equipment.

* Excellent leadership and team management skills.

* Ability to travel to Brixham.

* Full UK Driver’s License required.
