We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Auditor with demonstrable experience in internal audits within the public sector. This role involves leading and completing complex audit projects in a large and diverse organisation that is currently facing significant operational challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead and execute internal audits across various departments, ensuring compliance, risk management, and governance frameworks are robustly assessed.

* Deliver high-quality audit reports and recommendations, communicating findings clearly to senior management and stakeholders.

* Work with service teams to understand key risks and provide actionable insights to improve internal controls.

* Identify areas for operational improvement and provide assurance on business processes.

* Occasionally attend on-site meetings to collaborate with stakeholders when face-to-face interactions are required to meet audit objectives.

Key Requirements:

* Proven experience successfully completing internal audits in public sector organisations.

* A solid understanding of complex audit processes in large organisations.

* Strong knowledge of risk management, control, and governance practices.

* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence senior management and present audit findings in a clear and concise manner.

* Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

* Flexibility to work primarily remotely, with occasional on-site attendance for key meetings or audits.

Desirable Qualifications:

* A relevant professional qualification (e.g., CIA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is highly desirable but not essential.

* Experience working in large organisations facing significant operational and strategic challenges.

This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a high-performing audit team within a complex and diverse public sector organisation. The role offers the flexibility to work remotely, while still being engaged with key stakeholders to ensure successful audit outcomes.

We look forward to hearing from you
