Job Title: Mechanical Engineering Lead - Data Centre Projects
Location: Portugal
Employment Type: Full-Time
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineering Lead to join a strong team in Portugal and play a key role in delivering excellence in Data Centre projects.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the mechanical design and engineering of HVAC, cooling, and other critical infrastructure systems for Data Centre projects.
Oversee and guide a team of engineers in delivering high-quality mechanical solutions that meet client specifications, sustainability standards, and operational requirements.
Ensure the implementation of best practices in energy efficiency and sustainability, including closed-loop and open-loop cooling systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, project managers, and construction teams, to ensure seamless project delivery from design to commissioning.
Conduct technical assessments, troubleshooting, and optimization of mechanical systems to maintain high performance and reliability.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and trends, particularly around energy-efficient designs and innovations in cooling technologies.
Support project management teams in budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation for mechanical engineering tasks.
Engage with clients and stakeholders to ensure their requirements are fully understood and incorporated into the project design.
Key Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
7+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 3 years focused on Data Centres or mission-critical infrastructure.
Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams and overseeing large-scale projects.
Strong knowledge of HVAC design, cooling systems, and energy-efficient solutions specific to Data Centres.
Familiarity with industry standards such as ASHRAE, Uptime Institute, and European regulatory requirements.
LEED/BREEAM certifications or experience with sustainable building practices is an advantage.
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
Fluent in English; Portuguese language skills are a plus.
