Job Description

Brook Street is proud to represent a leading Construction, Fit-Out, and Facilities Management company with offices throughout the UK, in their search for a dedicated Finance Assistant to join their dynamic finance team. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong finance background who are eager to contribute to the efficiency and accuracy of financial operations. This role is located in Northern Ireland and not mainland UK

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Email Monitoring: Manage and monitor accounts email addresses for inquiries and transactions.
Purchase Ledger Management: Perform 3-way matching for purchase ledger entries.
Supplier Reconciliations: Conduct monthly reconciliations of supplier accounts.
Query Resolution: Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
Subcontractor Invoice Processing: Process subcontractor invoices, including setting up and verifying CIS (Construction Industry Scheme).
Credit Control: Manage credit control activities, including raising invoices and issuing statements.
Bank Payments Processing: Process bank payments as required by the finance team.
Month-End Payment Runs: Assist with month-end payment runs and related activities.
Team Support: Provide support to the wider finance team as needed.
General Administration: Carry out general administrative duties related to finance operations.

Experience and Qualifications

Previous Experience: Ideally, candidates will have previous experience in a similar finance role.
CIS Knowledge: Familiarity with CIS subcontractor tax regulations is preferred.
IT Skills: Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel, are essential.
Teamwork Ability: Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Accounting Software Proficiency: Experience with Sage, Xero, or equivalent accounting software is advantageous.

Desirable Qualifications
