Job Description

The Role

The purpose of your role will be to manage the development process for new products, including trails, reviewing raw material specifications and completing quality checks, and assisting the Technical Manager with ensuring that all matters relating to food safety, technical, legality and quality are adhered to and maintained. There is a need to cover the QA Technicians when required. You will be responsible for deputising for the Technical Manager in their absence.

Duties

* Assisting with 3rd party and customer audits and visits and to be able to stand-in for the Technical Manager when they are not available. Play an integral role in the audit process ensuring non-conformances that are identified are raised to the management team. Follow up the corrective actions until they are closed out.

* Draft, interpret and implement quality procedures in line with BRCGS and other customer standards. Management of document control.

* Completion of internal audits and traceability challenges according to the issued schedule. Where non-conformities are identified through audits, you will be responsible for logging these non-conformances and ensuring they are completed by the relevant person.

* Responsible for the NPD process from beginning to end. This will include completion of product specifications and QAS on customer portals, coordinating and reporting on product trials and first production runs, and writing internal specifications for use by production.

* Assist the Technical Manager with the Supplier Approval process, which will include requesting and updating technical information from suppliers, completing risk assessments and reviewing SAQ’s submitted by suppliers.

* Logging and investigating complaints and responding to customers with a detailed investigation in a timely manner. Completion of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on complaints to facilitate continuous improvement.

* Manage non-conforming product, ensuring that all non-conforming product is identified, placed on hold, and recorded in the non-conforming product log. This includes reviewing OOS reports issued by the accredited laboratory to ensure that any potentially affected product is suitably controlled and recording and communicating of any supplier non-conformities.

* Prepare reports to communicate the results of KPI’s to the relevant departments.
