Senior Tester in Glasgow - CV-Library

A Glasgow based SaaS company are on the lookout for an experienced Senior Tester to join their team.

They have been operating successfully for nearly half a century and have seen massive growth, with offices in Scotland and England. They are highly respected in their field, consistently delivering bespoke solutions and services to their clients that are spread across the whole of the UK. Some of their employees have been with the company for over 10 years (their retention is great here which is a massive testament to the company culture).

Day to day

You will lead the test strategy and implementation for their two key products. Gaining exposure to the whole SDLC, working on the organisations core products and solutions.

Mentor and guide Junior Testers, collaborating closely with product owners to define acceptance criteria and clarify requirements. Setting up automation frameworks from scratch, particularly for testing microservices.

You will help to develop and maintain comprehensive Test plans. Whilst they currently focus on UI automation and Manual Testing, they are moving towards broader automation, especially around API testing. As a Senior Tester, you'll have the opportunity to shape this strategy and expand their automation capabilities across the business - supporting the balance between manual and automated testing.

Tech Stack & Skills

Ideally, you will have:

-Strong Java experience, with hands-on knowledge of related automation tools

-Expertise in Selenium or Serenity for UI automation (other BDD experience will also work!)

-Proven experience with API Testing

-Experience testing microservices

-Solid understanding of Azure

-Ability to build test frameworks from scratch

Any of the following would be a bonus:

-ISTQB certification or higher

-Experience with DevOps

-Development experience in back end or front-end technologies (e.g., Spring Boot, Maven, Microservices)

-Static analysis tools (e.g., SonarQube)

-Familiarity with build tools like Maven, Performance testing (JMeter)

The team are based in Glasgow and expect you to visit the office a couple of times a month for Sprint planning and business updates but there is a lot of flex on this. The salary on offer for this role is up to £55k on top of a good list of benefits (private health care, 31 days of annual leave, flexible working, onsite parking).
