Our client is seeking an additional mid-level software engineer to assist with the increasing demands for development after a successful 2022. With the support of the Lead Developer, you will be required to help hit targets and deadlines for new and existing software platforms for clients in broadcast, events, and digital signage. As a mid-level software engineer, a high degree of independence is expected. The ideal candidate will be proficient in utilizing Go to deliver software solutions. You will have previously worked in a professional/commercial development environment and have delivered successful web projects to customers.
Working in a team driven environment you’re required to have some familiarity with agile software development, CI/CD and QA.

Personal Skills and Requirements
• 1-3 years of professional experience in Cloud/Backend Development
• Using Go as a main language
• Database management with strong Postgress & SQL
• Comfortable writing async code
• Git version control
• Strong experience working with and creating websockets and REST APIs
• Software Development Qualifications or bachelor’s degree (or higher) in computer science
• Agile software development experience
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organisational and planning skills
• The ability to work well in a group setting
• Empathy and situational awareness
• Resilient and flexible attitude
• Willingness to take ownership of issues and projects

Desirable requirements
• Experience working in SaaS
• Rust / Python & Frontend Technologies (Vue, HTML & CSS)

Responsibilities & Duties
• Developing new features and maintaining existing ones
• Writing readable and robust code
• Version control and documentation using Git/Gitlab
• Partaking in Code Reviews with Lead Developers & Junior Developers
• Helping Junior Software Engineers when needed

Working Hours: 0830 – 1730 (Mon – Fri)
Holiday Allowance: 21 Days (Excl. bank holidays)
