Job Description
Mobile Veterinary Surgeon, Newton Abbot, Devon. From 40k per annum. DOE.
Work Life Balance, it’s one of those buzz phrases that gets banded about a lot. You hear people talking about it, and practices promising it, but few actually achieve it, especially in veterinary.
The pressures of the industry make it difficult, but as you know there are exceptions to the rule.
You love being a vet, it’s all you ever wanted to be, but long hours, weekends, OOH’s, production line consults and don’t get me started on those silly targets, it’s not what you signed up for.
What if we knew of an independent mobile vet practice on the edge of Dartmoor, where you have time to spend with the patient, work with like-minded individuals, give the best care you can, and actually achieve the WLB you have been craving.
Luckily, we do and this one is hiring.
This modern practice is hiring for growth. Ideally, they are looking for a vet with over three years of experience, a kind empathetic vet, and a real team player who wants the best for patient and practice.
With dozens of 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐reviews you can see why they have just won “Mobile Veterinary Practice of the Year.”
They offer a relaxed environment where everyone pulls together when there’s work, and relaxes when it’s time. There’s very little “management,” just a strong team who want to be the best they can be.
You will be out on the road with a nurse in their fully kitted van, rolling up your sleeves and getting stuck into a real mixed bag of cases.
Approx 70% is on the road with 30% in the unit. You can bring your dog to work here too, located next to a nature reserve there are some great walks at lunchtime.
They are looking for either a P/T or F/T vet. Anything from 2 days to 4 days a week, with a 3-day weekend. No OOH’s and No weekends, they are super flexible, I said there were exceptions to the rule!
So, what’s in it for you? From 40k per annum, DOE. 29 days holiday plus stats, pro-rated. RCVS and VDS paid for plus another membership of choice, pension, and CPD allowance.
Based on the edge of Dartmoor National Park there’s walking, climbing, outdoor pursuits in the hills plus the beautiful beaches of Devon and Cornwall are only a short drive. If you want to let your hair down the city of Exeter is only a 30 min drive away.
Choosing a new practice is a big decision. You are a good vet, who cares and wants to make a difference, but most of all you are looking for a relaxed environment with that balance you aren’t getting currently.
So, what’s next?
Send your CV, don’t worry if it’s not up to date. We can’t get the whole story in a job ad so ask any questions. I’ll answer honestly, no hard sell.
Get your life back and enjoy being a vet again
