Job Description

My client is seeking a Structural Design Engineer / Manager to join their multi displined team to deliver a wide range of confirmed projects on a prestigous framework.

Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for the management of the structural design process and project managing the design phase to successfully requirement and budget.

Responsibilities

• Structural design management, including the preparation of technical drawings for a wide range of projects types and forms

• Project management for design phases including the day to day management of external design consultants

• Assisting with the commercial management of projects to time and budget requirements.

•Undertaking site visits and external consultant meetings to ensure collaboration and management of programme.

• Experience of structural engineering and the design of buildings in a variety of structural forms and materials .

• Experience and understanding of multi-disciplinary design process

• Experience in leading and managing projects

This is an excellent opportunity for Structural Engineers to move away from consultancy, to working client-side and managing those external consultancies. Within the department they are responsible for projects up to RIBA stage 3, with all detailed design carried out by framework consultants. You will be managing their performance on the projects within your control.

We are seeking Structural Engineers who ideally hold a Degree in a relevant engineering field, and either a Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership.
