Job Description

Anderson Knight are delighted to be working on a retained basis with our client, a leading Scottish hospitality group on the appointment of a Financial Reporting Manager.

Reporting into the Head of Financial Reporting & Control, you will ensure the integrity of the group’s financial records and maintain the accuracy of financial reporting, including the management of balance sheet reconciliations, accounting for construction activities, preparation of HMRC returns, and overseeing divisional and external reporting.

You will also manage a small team within the finance department and play a key role in the year-end process, liaising with auditors to meet their requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

* Oversee activity in contracts throughout the month, including the preparation of month-end journals for correct profit release, accruals, prepayments, and central cost recharges.

* Prepare monthly management reports for the board of directors, including divisional reporting for joint ventures and internal divisions.

* Prepare quarterly external reports.

* Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed accurately.

* Responsible for the preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns and monthly CIS returns.

* Assist with the audit process from planning through to completion and prepare statutory accounts.

* Lead and manage a small team of employees, ensuring targets are met, transactions and balance sheets are controlled, and junior staff receive training and development.

* Undertake other tasks as required by the Head of Financial Reporting & Control, adapting to the needs of the business.

The main candidate will be:

* Fully qualified

* Have a proven track record in a financial environment, with experience managing a small team.

* Strong excel skills

* Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical skills

* Knowledge of the hospitality sector is preferred but not essential.
