Job Title: Vehicle Mechanic

Location: Exeter

Hours: 40 hours per week

Salary: £34,000 to £37,000 per annum, plus bonuses & overtime

Alecto Recruitment is on the hunt for a Vehicle Mechanic to join the team at a well-established main dealership that's revving up for success! Are you a whiz with a wrench, a diagnostic genius, or just someone who loves getting their hands greasy under the hood? Then this might just be your dream job! We're looking for someone who can bring skill, passion, and a bit of horsepower to our client's busy Dealership. If you're ready to shift gears in your career, keep reading!

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, brake inspections, and tire replacements to ensure vehicle safety and performance.
Identify mechanical problems using diagnostic equipment and provide accurate repair recommendations.
Repair and replace faulty components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems.
Utilise specialized tools to test and assess vehicle systems for faults.
Keep detailed and up-to-date records of all maintenance and repair work.
Communicate effectively with customers, providing clear explanations of repairs and costs involved.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment in line with health and safety guidelines.
Manage workload efficiently, ensuring repairs are completed on schedule.
Support the development of junior mechanics by sharing knowledge and providing guidance as needed.Requirements:

Demonstrated experience working as a Vehicle Mechanic or in a similar role.
Relevant qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, such as NVQ Level 2 or 3.
MOT Tester Certification is beneficial but not mandatory.
Strong skills in diagnosing mechanical issues and solving complex problems.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle tight deadlines.
Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer satisfaction.
High attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality work.
