Cover Supervisor

Location: Stockport

Salary: £450 - £600

Start Date: ASAP

New Directions Education are looking for a dedicated and reliable Cover Supervisor to work within one of our partner secondary schools starting in September 2024. As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the continuity of education for students in the absence of their regular teacher. Your primary responsibilities will include:

Supervising classes during teacher absences.
Ensuring students remain on task with the work set by their teachers.
Managing classroom behaviour and ensuring a positive learning environment.
Providing support to students where necessary.
Reporting back as appropriate using the school's agreed referral procedures on the behaviour of pupils during the class, and any issues arising.Key Responsibilities

Supervise work that has been set in accordance with the school policy.
Manage the behaviour of pupils while they are undertaking this work to ensure a constructive environment.
Respond to any questions from pupils about process and procedures.
Deal with any immediate problems or emergencies according to the school's policies and procedures.
Collect completed work after the lesson and pass to the appropriate teacher.
Report, as appropriate, using the school's agreed referral procedures, on the behaviour of pupils during the class, and any issues arising.Requirements

Previous experience working within school.
A degree or equivalent qualification is preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage groups of students and maintain classroom discipline.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
