Mechanical Maintenance Technician - Day Shift in South Shields - CV-Library

Zenith People are working with our client who are looking to recruit a time-served Mechanical Biased Maintenance Technician on a permanent basis. Responsible for repair and maintenance of plant, machinery and equipment as required to ensure the effective operation of the facility.

Duties & Responsibilities

* Assisting in the installation of machinery and equipment

* Fault finding, diagnosis and repair of a range of equipment

* Analysis and resolution of mechanical faults and repairs

* Timely response to equipment breakdowns and completion of equipment repairs

* Carrying out planned preventative maintenance on a range of winders, conveyors and robots in accordance with manufacturers recommendations and Industry/Company practices

* Accurately recording and communicating maintenance information

* Effective involvement in continuous improvement activities to achieve results

* Ability to provide and co-ordinate engineering project support

* Taking an active involvement in operational improvements, both systems and plant

SKILLS REQUIRED

* ONC/BTEC/NVQ in Mechanical Engineering or other appropriate engineering/maintenance qualifications

* Knowledge of computer-based maintenance/breakdown recording systems

* Ability to read and understand Technical drawings

* Experience of lean management techniques

* Experience of production / manufacturing environment

* Good team working abilities, leading teams, projects
