The Economics Consulting Division (ECD) joined RSM in 2017 (previously PACEC Ltd) and since then we have doubled our turnover and trebled our profits. We work with the 300 Audit/Business Partners across the UK and internationally to provide public policy research and evaluation. This role is ideally suited to a flexible and ambitious individual who wishes to make a real impact on policy, working alongside a talented team of economists, social researchers and analysts based across the UK.

Overall job purpose

RSM provides research and evaluation/economic consulting services to public sector clients throughout the UK and across the areas of Health and Social Care, Education, Housing, Regeneration, Economic Development, Skills, Innovation and Energy.

We require motivated, self-aware, detail conscious and organised individuals. The impact of our work is wide-reaching, evidenced through how we influence better policy-making in public services, healthcare, education, economic development/regeneration, housing and Research and Development.

Your new role within our team will be to work alongside very experienced Directors to support the winning and delivery of economic and policy research, strategy development, and evaluations across a wide range of policy areas.
We are specifically searching for candidates with experience in the health, social care, housing, economic development, regeneration, science/technology/innovation sectors to inform policy development at national and local government levels.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and explore new trends and direction in Government policy
  • Access and extrapolate new findings from national and regional policy datasets
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative data analysis, reporting and visualisation
  • Prepare quality proposal responses in line with tender specifications in a timely and robust manner, and as agreed with your line manager
  • Liaise with clients on a daily basis to support their requirements
  • Lead project planning and delivery
  • Undertake stakeholder consultations, workshops and focus groups
  • Support the business in identifying and winning new work opportunities, including writing proposals and research methodologies
  • Undertake structured and dedicated training to support your technical, business and personal skills development
  • Mentor and coach junior staff, as required, seeking to support the team and learning ethos that currently exists
