We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer for a 12 month contract based in Washington on behalf of our globally respected client who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs.

Job description - the role

Provide technical support to operations and execute Manufacturing Engineering activities to develop, maintain and continuously improve manufacturing processes and/or methods of manufacture, which are capable of meeting and continuing to meet business and customer requirements for safety, quality, cost, deliver rate and lead time (SQCD).

As a Manufacturing Engineer you will be responsible for:

Ensure manufacturing processes comply with Health, Safety, and Environmental Standards, supporting the Zero Harm program.
Maintain process adherence to design specifications; resolve safety issues rigorously.
Foster a zero-defects culture, ensuring compliance with company and legislative standards, including RRMS, SABRe, Export Control, and IP policies.
Oversee process controls; act as MEA or PCA signatory when delegated.
Identify and implement new/improved processes, digital systems, and technologies.
Manage schedules, resources, and costs; resolve issues to meet timelines.
Develop and continuously improve processes to meet safety, quality, cost, and delivery requirements. Utilize data to enhance process capability.
Align processes with best practices via collaboration with Commodity Leaders and Process Owners.
Share knowledge, lessons learned, and best practices across teams and Communities of Practice.
Pursue self-development, provide coaching, and expand expertise.
Build effective partnerships with suppliers and stakeholders

What we require from the candidate:

Professionally Qualified Engineer (e.g., UK minimum HND/foundation degree or another national equivalent)
Recognised national or international engineering accreditation (e.g., UK IEng or CEng) where available.
General understanding of manufacturing processes relevant to their business
General awareness of Manufacturing Systems and enabling software tools relevant to the business
Understanding of Manufacturing Engineering processes relevant to their role
