Job Description

An opportunity for a Senior Accounts Assistant, ideally qualified to at least Level 2 Accounting Technician qualification, to join a successful and established business in which you will work closely with the Finance Manager, utilising your existing knowledge and experience and being given the opportunity through the Finance Manager’s mentorship to develop further your accounting skills and knowledge.

You should be capable of preparing Accounts to Trial balance and working closely with the Finance Manager and external Auditor on Year End.

Duties of the Senior Accounts Assistant will be many and varied and include:

Trial balance

Financial Accounts

VAT

Accruals and Prepayments

Reconciliations

Assisting Finance Manager in ad hoc tasks as they arise

Supporting small accounts team engaged in:

The coding and recording of supplier invoices

Monitor costs and deliveries, matching purchase invoices to delivery notes

Liaise with customer service and suppliers to resolve queries with deliveries and returns

Planning and preparing supplier payments

Reconcile supplier statements

Participate in payment run preparation

Allocation and reconciliation of bank transactions

Raise invoices / credit notes and code them

Process journal entries

Finance related data input and administration

Updating Sales and Purchase Ledger

The Senior Accounts Assistant must have the qualities of integrity and enthusiasm to learn and develop. You must have a close eye for detail and be an effective communicator with strong numeracy skills. Strong organisation and administrative skills essential and you should be a team player
