We are a rapidly expanding company, looking for a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on the design and development of special purpose machinery, gauging systems, jigs, and fixtures.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and develop mechanical solutions for special-purpose machinery, automation equipment, and PLC-controlled systems.
• Create detailed 3D designs and drawings for machining, fabrication, and assembly.
• Collaborate with the existing design team to ensure the successful implementation of designs.
• Investigate the suitability of different materials for machine design and development.
• Translate concepts into practical design solutions, addressing engineering problems effectively.
• Produce production-ready drawings with an understanding of component machining for ease of manufacture.
Desired Skills & Experience:
• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a similar mechanical design role.
• Knowledge of special purpose machinery, machine tools, automation equipment, PLC-controlled machines, jigs and fixtures.
• Some knowledge of electrical component specification (i.e. sensors, vision systems, safety, drives) would be beneficial.
• Proficiency in using 3D CAD software; knowledge of Solid Edge is an advantage.
• Experienced in creating detailed drawings for machining and fabrication.
• Solid understanding of machine concepts and the ability to transform them into clear design drawings.
• Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and produce high-quality work.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
