Location: Exeter & East Region

Hourly rate: £44/hr

Contract Type: Full-Time, Locum contract

Join our Exeter & East Fostering Team as a Manager and lead a dedicated team in delivering exceptional fostering services.

About the Role: As the Manager of the Exeter & East Fostering Team, you will oversee the provision of regulated fostering services, ensuring that foster carers, children, and their families receive comprehensive support. Your leadership will be crucial in managing service delivery, developing the team, and fulfilling statutory responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage a team of Social Workers and Family Practitioners, providing day-to-day support and overseeing assessments.

Ensure the delivery of high-quality support services for foster carers, children, and their families.

Collaborate with social work teams, families, carers, and multi-agency partners to meet children's needs and make support services accessible.

Oversee assessments of needs and develop support plans for carers and families.

Manage resources and budgets effectively to ensure efficient service delivery.

Skills & Experience Required:

A social work qualification and current registration with Social Work England (SWE).

Experience in children's services, particularly in fostering, kinship care, or special guardianship.

Proven leadership and management experience.

In-depth knowledge of fostering regulations and experience in multi-agency and court environments.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Budget management experience.

Comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation, models, and theories in children’s social work.

Strong recording and planning skills.

A valid UK driving licence and access to a car.
