Job Description

Title: Scientific Software Engineer

Location: Manchester

Salary Range: DOE

Working arrangements: Hybrid

This fast-growing SME is looking for a new Software Engineer to join their dynamic team in Manchester.

My client is a leading provider of expert advice and solutions within the engineering industry, where this role specialises in developing software for commercial applications.

The responsibilities include:

Designing, developing and maintaining software for scientific applications
Collaboration between departments, utilising knowledge of science and engineering
Writing code in C++ and C# for implementation of scientific algorithms
Optimising software performance
Test and debug software
Documentation of software designs, algorithms and usage

Ideal candidates will have:

A degree in Computer Science, Chemical Engineering, Software Engineering or similar
Experience developing scientific software
Communication skills and the ability to work within a team
Knowledge of parallel computing and multithreading
Experience with Jira and Confluence
Experience with virtual control systems, e.g. Bitbucket (minimum Git)
