Golborne – WA3

Permanent Opportunity

Monday to Friday (7am – 4pm)

£50,000 - £55,000 Per Annum + Comprehensive Benefits & Annual Bonus

ALPLA Golborne is part of the Global ALPLA group with circa 190 Sites worldwide manufacturing sustainable plastic packaging across various sectors

The Golborne site is a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility working 24 / 7 with over 400 employees. Our UK Flagship site has an extensive customer base ranging from Blue Chip customers to own label branded customers supplying the relevant markets and retail products .

The site has seen significant investment over the recent years with continuous growth within its respective markets.

Role Outline

We are looking an experienced Quality Production Manager to ensure that our products and services meet all necessary requirements before they reach the consumer.

The production Quality Manager, will ensure the final products we make meet compliance to legal standards and meets customer expectations to the agreed Quality standards

You must fully understand the requirements for the product, service and have a sense of responsibility towards our potential and existing customers.

The goal is to help preserve our well-established reputation by ensuring that our products and services are capable and to drive sustainable growth.

Responsibilities

* Understand customer needs and requirements to develop effective quality control processes

* Devise and review specifications for products or processes.

* Works closely with the respective department head to ensure continuous improvement through RCA and 5 Why analysis

* Works in collaboration with site OPEX team to drive a culture of continuous improvement and corrective actions

* Ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines as well as legal obligations for the products we make and the site health and safety policy.

* Supervise coordinators, inspectors, works closely with technicians, and other staff and provide guidance and feedback for Quality improvement

* Oversee all trial product development procedures to identify deviations from quality standards supports the AQP trial's Process where necessary.

* Inspect final output and compare properties to requirements.

* Approve the right products or reject defective products ensures a robust isolation process is managed with department heads

* Keep accurate documentation and perform statistical analysis of products with scope.

* Solicit feedback from customers to assess whether their requirements are met

* Submit detailed reports to appropriate managers and plant management

* Ensures effective feedback to all customers on any complaints in a timely and effective manner ensures all corrective actions are completed in agreed timeframe

* Continually supports opportunities for improvement and develop new efficient procedures to ensure Quality compliance

* Ensures all team members are trained to carry out their job role, works closely with all department heads to ensure all team members are trained in quality compliance for their respective department .

* Works with and forms healthy relationships with regional Quality to ensure corporate initiatives are adhered to and implemented

Requirements and skills

* Extensive Proven experience as a quality manager ideally from a plastic manufacturing background

* Conscientious and responsible with a culture of continuous Quality improvement

* A keen eye for detail and a result driven approach

* Outstanding communication skills.

* Excellent organizational and strong leadership skills with the ability to develop teams across a multi-functional manufacturing process

* Proficient in MS Office.

* In depth understanding of quality control procedures and relevant legal standards

* Excellent maths abilities and working knowledge of data analysis/statistical methods and the ability to identify trends and react accordingly

* Degree Qualified or equivalent in a relevant Quality discipline is essential

* Knowledge of FSSC 22000 or BRC certification desirable

* A great quality manager is thorough and observant with an eye for detail!
