Warehouse Supervisor role An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to join our National Distribution Centre based in Coventry. Working as an integral part of our regional logistics team, you will enjoy being hands-on in conducting daily tasks as part of the wider team but relish the increased responsibility of leading by example and supervising warehouse colleagues. Reporting to the Logistics Manager at site, tasks will include supervising stock handling, prioritising customer satisfaction through timely deliveries, and maintaining quality standards. Additionally, the role involves driving performance to meet regional targets, providing leadership and support to achieve organisational objectives. Warehouse Supervisor Key Duties
Lead and manage daily warehouse operations, providing clear direction and support to ensure efficient task completion.
Work with the Logistics Manager to address team performance issues and implement strategies for improvement.
Receive and inspect supplier deliveries, ensuring adherence to receiving procedures and prompt resolution of discrepancies.
Supervise the accurate receipt, quality checks, and storage of goods, optimising space and maintaining system accuracy.
Direct the picking, loading, and dispatching of goods, coordinating workflow and resource allocation to meet delivery deadlines.
Manage paperwork processing, maintaining records and overseeing administrative tasks for operational efficiency.
Conduct regular stock counts and audits to maintain accurate inventory records and address discrepancies promptly.
Provide high standards of customer service, promptly addressing inquiries and resolving issues to ensure a positive experience.
Collaborate with Sales to coordinate customer delivery schedules and align operational activities with expectations.
Promote cooperation and teamwork between departments and Regional Distribution Centres to enhance efficiency and achieve goals.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards for health, safety, and quality management.
What you will bring Essential:
Minimum two years’ experience of working within warehouse environment
Minimum 6-12 months team-leading/supervisory experience within a warehouse environment
Valid Forklift licences (please note, both Counterbalance and pivot-steer ‘Bendi’ is essential for this role).
Demonstrable track record of reliability in relation to goods in/out orientated role
Proven team player with flexible approach and strong work ethic
Good grasp of general health & safety legislation/best practice and manual handling
Sound communication skills both verbal and written
Satisfactory level of basic maths & English ideally evidence by GCSE grades A-C
Desirable:
Experience in prior role of close inter-department working (i.e. with sales/purchasing)
Formal qualifications or training courses completed in management and/or health & safety
Prior experience of working with diverse and multiple product lines of stock
Experience of working within a fast-paced environment with the ability to prioritise tasks
